Types of Volunteer Opportunities

Have a Heart Fundraiser Volunteers Needed!
Participate in the annual Have a Heart for the Animals Fundraiser Event, with over 300 guests expected to be in attendance. This event will be held Saturday February 4, 2012 at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale. A group of volunteers plus volunteers coordinator will be needed to assist with many aspects of the function including:

 

  • Early arrival for set up
  • Clean up after the event
  • Assist with check-in and check-out process
  • Assist with all aspects of the Silent Auction allowing for an efficient and expedient process for guests to check out and collect auction prizes
  • All and any duties as assigned

 

Volunteers for this event must be dependable, hard-working, be present in requested attire, have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to operate credit card machines.

 

We want this event to be the best annual event ever! Volunteers are needed to make the process as successful & enjoyable as possible for our guests. Feral Cat Trap & Transport Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers with experience and knowledge in the TNR program, are needed to assist the clinic & members of the community in trap & transport and promotions of our TNR program. For more information please email Sara, our TNR Scheduler, at TNR@AlteredTails.org or call (602) 216-1160.

 

Administrative Assistance

 

Provide administrative support to Altered Tails administrative staff in preparation for our annual Fundraiser and other tasks as assigned.
Major Responsibilities: data entry, packet assembly, mailings, required to use Microsoft Word and Excel (experience required).

 

Veterinary Assistance
Assist the clinic staff by providing care and maintenance of clinic kennel area and general observation and care of animals.
Major Responsibilities: Compassionate care is the top priority for all animals; keep kennels clean, orderly, and free of odor; ensure exam rooms and kennels are clean, orderly, and ready for use; change blankets and sheets as needed; clinic laundry.

 

Feral Cat Volunteer
On high volume Feral Day clinics, provide general assistance to support our Feral TNR Program.
Major Responsibilities: Moving cats in and out of cages; assisting staff with general clinic tasks (see above) and observation of cats post-surgery; ensuring traps are closed, clean, newspaper changed as necessary, sheets covering traps, and laundry as necessary.

 

Qualifications
Volunteers must be reliable, have a basic understanding of Altered Tail’s mission & goals, be flexible and have a great love and compassion for our furry friends. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
